Catholic Social Teaching

At St Mary Magdalen's, we learn about Catholic Social Teaching during a dedicated weekly assembly. It also forms the foundation of our lives at school and as members of the wider community. We try to put into action everything we learn about the 'Common Good' as we know it is our responsibility and duty as Catholics.

"Catholic Social Teaching calls us all to work for the common good, help build a just society, uphold the dignity of human life and work for justice and the dignity of all our brothers and sisters, especially those in the greatest need."  Caritas in Action

Our Thursday whole school worship assemblies, cover the themes of Catholic Social Teaching. These include Stewardship, Solidarity, Rights and Responsibilities and Family and Community.

Please read our newsletters for weekly updates on the themes covered.

The children in our school are very keen to support various charities and often initiate fundraising themselves for causes they care deeply about, for example 'Water Aid', 'Guide Dogs' and Cancer charities.
